Sarah and Andrew met me bright and early in Old Town Alexandria for their engagement session. There are many benefits to choosing sunrise for your engagement session in Old Town Alexandria. Most importantly, you get the gorgeous morning light. Two, you have the place to yourself. And lastly, especially in the warmer months, you beat the 90 degree weather like Sarah and Andrew did.
I’m thrilled that Sarah and Andrew came my way through his older brother and sister-in-law, whose wedding I documented at Lost Creek Winery in 2016. Andrew and his brother, Mark, look so much alike that for the first few minutes I called him Mark. I felt really guilty afterwards because I bet he has had to deal with that his whole life. And there I was, doing it as well. Bless his heart, he just laughed as I promised to get it together.
I walked around with the two for an hour, moving from Alexandria’s waterfront park to alleyways and streets lined with the most beautiful homes. I learned more about how they met on a dating app. Just as Andrew was going to through in the towel on the dating app world, he got a message from Sarah and the rest.. well the rest is still being written. We chatted about what going back to work post-COVID would look like and how all of us in the DC area would much rather not have to go back to 2-3 hour commutes.
After we left Old Town Alexandria, we headed over to Sarah and Andrew’s new home that they just purchased a few months ago. While I was there I met their sweet, rescue pup, Stormy. She was such a sweet girl whose favorite snack is sting cheese.
I had so much fun spending my morning with Sarah and Andrew for their Old Town Alexandria engagement session. It makes me sad that I won’t be seeing them until their Labor Day Weekend wedding, next year, at Rust Manor House, and I cannot wait!
